The combination of Fini’s soft and pure vocals with his at times raw and uncompromising piano style makes the music come alive and feel almost playfully light. Accompanying Fini is a group of outstanding young musicians who—despite their age—have already made their mark on the Danish jazz scene. This formidable ensemble interprets both well-known and lesser-known songs from the American Songbook.

The musicians’ deep love for jazz tradition and history clearly shines through in their playing, while the music is neither solemn nor backward-looking. The ensemble insists on a serious artistic expression, free of clichés, offering a personal take on otherwise familiar songs. This evening will be dedicated to one of vocal jazz’s greatest voices, Nat King Cole.
