L'heure bleue (the blue hour) is a French term for the hour before sunrise and sunset, when the light gives a special atmosphere, which not least artists have used as inspiration over the years. The late afternoon/evening hour, when the sun casts its last rays on Copenhagen's variegated rooftops, can be appropriately spent at Café Den Blå Time in Store Kongensgade. If there is room, you can sit by one of the large windows with a cup of good Italian coffee or a drink and look out at the crowd of people and traffic.
Jazz and classical are most often played in the café, and when the Copenhagen Jazz Festival takes over Copenhagen every summer, Café Blå Time is an official venue and presents part of the program in intimate surroundings.
